Hollywood Monster Oli Barton LFR

Currently based in the UK’s second city of Birmingham, the time has come for Hollywood Monster to set its sights on the capital. The company is one of the largest wide format printers and signage companies in Britain and is known for having completed projects across the country as well as Europe. Now the signage experts are expanding to London, starting with the formation of a business development team that serves solely clients in the capital.

Leading this team is Oli Barton, who moved to London last April and was appointed Hollywood Monster’s Business Development Manager in December. Barton first became affiliated with Hollywood Monster whilst working in Birmingham from 2009 to 2012 and has since used them continuously as a supplier in his various roles throughout the UK.

Speaking about his relationship with Hollywood Monster and his new role, Barton said: “I am so pleased to now be part of a company that I have for so long worked alongside. As a customer, I experienced first hand the quality, service, and reliability that Hollywood Monster delivers and I’m excited to be able to offer that same level of professionalism to others. As Business Development Manager, I hope to continue the growth demonstrated by Hollywood Monster in London, the world’s most exciting city, and deliver long term value with more people becoming aware of the award winning service that the business is renowned for.”

Barton’s team will be responsible for identifying new clients and opportunities for growth in the retail construction, development, sport & leisure sectors across the city, adding to the company’s already significant list of London-based clients. Hollywood Monster’s projects in the capital span the centre: in the summer Westfield London was revamped, treating shoppers to something brighter; Piccadilly Circus was regally robed in red and gold in the autumn; and before Christmas, Marble Arch was given a festive fix. The company has also completed work for Transport For London on the London Underground, meaning that it is more than likely that everyone in the city has seen a finished Hollywood Monster project and not even realised it.

Simon McKenzie, Sales Director at Hollywood Monster, commented on the company’s extensive work in the capital. He said: “We are really proud of the work that we’ve completed so far in London, particularly because each job has been so unique. We gave Westfield London a monster makeover, bringing a splash of colour to the somewhat grey English summer, but then not even six months later we helped Samsung create a 100metre advent calendar in time for the Christmas countdown. The work we do is never the same and I’m looking forward to seeing what other innovative projects we can bring to life in London.”

One of the largest jobs saw Hollywood Monster give the ExCeL centre a makeover in time for an event by information technology giants, HP. The fit-out included the production and installation of hoardings, exhibition stands, floor signage, banners and large external vinyls for the ‘Discover 2015’ talks. One vinyl measured a whopping 65m by 9m, spanning the length of the DLR bridge. With two crews of installers, the project took five days, ensuring that by the time of the conference, the events venue was ready to welcome a footfall of 60,000 guests.

Hollywood Monster aims to expand 20% year on year and forecasts that they will be opening a sales and projects office in Central London by early 2017. With these ambitious targets in place, the formation of the business development team is important for both Hollywood Monster and its clients.
