Large Format Review (LFR) has been bought out by Marc Burnett and Abi Ricketts, LFR’s publisher and editor. As of 1st July 2012, Marc Burnett and Abi Ricketts will take full ownership of the publication and it will become part of the newly-formed FORMAT Media Ltd company (trading as FORMAT Media Group).
As well as focusing on the development of LFR, Marc and Abi plan to grow their complementary marketing and PR business under the FORMAT brand. Marc Burnett, director of FORMAT, has been in the printing industry for over 20 years. On the creation of the new business, he explains, “By separating IGS UK and LFR and by running LFR as a separate entity in its own right, we can increase the commercial opportunities of the publication. We want to give LFR the focus it deserves to ensure it reaches its full potential whilst continuing to drive forward our marketing and PR activities.”
Abi Ricketts, co-director of FORMAT, has been in the PR, copywriting and marketing communications industries – both corporate and agency-side –for over 15 years. She adds, “Marc and I have very different skills and believe we have something truly unique to offer the marketplace. By combining my copywriting, corporate marketing and PR agency experience with Marc’s creative flair, technical excellence and expansive knowledge of the print industry, we believe we can turn FORMAT Media into a great success.”
“LFR has been a huge success for IGS, but over the past year or so we have become acutely aware – from customer feedback – that there is a perceived conflict of interest. As such, we needed to separate the two businesses. This will also allow IGS to focus fully on its key areas of the resale and distribution of large format digital printing consumables,” concludes Nick Wintle, managing director of LFR’s former owner, International Graphics Sourcing (IGS) UK. “I wish Marc and Abi all the very best!”
All existing advertising and PR agreements made with LFR will be honoured under the same terms.
