Xaar, a manufacturer of printheads and a world leader in its segment, announced the sponsorship of Digital Image South America 2011, the largest exhibition of digital printing solutions in the Graphic Arts field. The event will be held from the 27th to 30th of April, at the blue pavilion of Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo.

Digital Image South America 2011 includes markets for digital printing, customisation, direct marketing, promotional and transpromotional printing, technologies for visual communication, plotting, large format printing and, now also, silkscreen. The event will have 14,700 square meters of exhibition area to ensure comfort for all visitors. The growing digital market investment is needed and the numbers prove it. According to a recent research published in May this year by Abigraf (Brazilian Printing Industry Association), 26% of the graphic companies that are already working with digital technology have the intention to make new investments in the short term, and 1.6% of conventional graphic companies (which still doesn't work with digital, equivalent to 247 out of almost 21,000 graphic companies in activity in Brazil) plan to invest in this technology and broaden their work options from this year (2010). Add to this the fact that Brazil lives a splendid economic time, with one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world, and the national printing industry accounts for more than 1.6% of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in Brazil.
