Fotoba Xld170

Fotoba is launching the XLD170 machine at Sign & Digital UK 2012 and details can be obtained on the Leopold/Fotoba stand (G62).

The XLD170 is unique. It is designed to work with both rolls and sheet media and at 1.7m wide it is an extremely flexible solution for finishing production solutions. Regardless of any feed misalignment, the XLD170 will automatically re-align itself to the edge of the printed image. If the printer fails to print parallel to the media edge or if the printer fails to wind up the rolls squarely the XLD170 will always produce square finished posters.

The XLD utilises the Fotoba Cut Marks which are embedded in all the popular software RIP's and is the ideal partner to all the new fast printers, even for the 5m machines printing 3 rolls simultaneously.

There will be a number of other products on the stand including the Easy Transporter - a new Heavy Roll transporter for moving rolls of media around the production floor.  With a maximum weight capacity of 120kg it is essential in addressing manual lifting Health & Safety Issues.

The range of Print in Glass products from Beidermann will also be shown.  This newly developed system opens up several possibilities for the design of prints in combination with glass, including:

  • In store promotions, signage, POS
  • Mirrors
  • Doors
  • Tiles
  • Tables

A special adhesive interlayer enables mounting of the prints from behind as well as in-between glass.  The application is simple; the interlayer as well as the print have to be cut according to the size of the glass and then processed in a ‘sandwich’ in a Biedermann vacuum thermo table called VacuVers.

In a separate announcement, Paul Leopold of Leopold Professional Imaging/Colex House has been announced as the new dealer for the Colex Sharpcut Flatbed Cutter in England.  The industry leader in wide-format finishing solutions, offers its newest model Sharpcut Flatbed Cutter System, powered by vision registration camera and software. The Sharpcut is Colex’s most productive and value solution for finishing complex digital display graphics’ jobs.
