Ricoh UK has announced it will be attending Sign & Digital UK for the first time in April this year. The company will use stand J10 to unveil its new Ricoh Pro L4100 Series latex large format machine which is commercially available from April 2014, as well as running a Ricoh Pro™ C751EX digital press, demonstrating its MarcomCentral SaaS-based Marketing Asset Management (MAM) system and portfolio of Business Driver tools.
The new Ricoh Pro™ L4100 Series latex large format printer is roll-to-roll machine, and comes in two models, the 130cm (53 inch) Pro™ L4130 and the 160cm (63 inch) Pro™ L4160. It supports up to seven colours in various configurations including CMYK, orange, green and white ink. The Ricoh Pro L4160 and L4130 deliver high print productivity and quality as a result of a range of advanced technological innovations including Ricoh’s own piezo electric print heads. The series also meets the market need for products that reduce environmental impacts printing through low power consumption and the use of aqueous latex ink.
Ricoh Pro™ L4100’s latex ink is an aqueous (water-based) ink which contains a low level of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). It has no odour and the low curing temperature of 60°C ink enables both quick drying, for a fast job turnaround, and the ability to print on many heat-sensitive substrates without damaging them.
Says Gareth Parker, strategic marketing manager, Ricoh UK: “The public debut in the UK of the first commercially available model of the L4100 Series is a very exciting development in the evolution of Ricoh as an emerging leader in the digital print sector. With this product, we now have strong, competitive portfolio spanning the cut sheet and wide format Graphics and CAD sectors. Attending Sign & Digital UK provides us with a great platform to officially launch this product into the market as well as introduce why and how a broader portfolio of marketing services can add to our customers’ core business competencies.
“Having the Ricoh Pro™ C751EX on the stand will also give us the opportunity to demonstrate to printers and sign makers how the combination of these machines and a SaaS-based Marketing Asset Management (MAM) solution like MarcomCentral can provide a complete workflow and output solution that could radically transform the way they do business, increasing profitability and new revenue streams and offering greater production efficiencies.”
With a superior image quality and exceptional functionality, the Ricoh Pro™ C751 series has the highest specification and reliability in its class and raises the standard for productivity, efficiency, quality and profitability. It has extremely high image quality VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) technology for razor sharp 4800 dpi, chemical PxP™ toner and oil-less technology for accurate, smooth offset-like image quality. The Pro™ C751 offers huge media versatility, an improved fusing unit and high productivity, with volumes of up to 180,000 per month, 75 ppm colour/mono on stock up to 300 gsm. The machine also provides for maximum uptime thanks to a new liquid cooling system enabling extended and continuous printing, as well as enhanced ORUs (Operator Replaceable Units) and toner bottles, and waste toner and media changes achieved on the fly.
Also being demonstrated on the Ricoh stand throughout the show is MacromCentral, a software-as-a-service MAM solution. MacromCentral gives signmakers and commercial printers an online portal to offer on-demand services, take orders, vary pricing and seamlessly pass work into their daily working practices. MarcomCentral ultimately saves operational costs by reducing manual administration tasks and introduces a new customer experience that keeps companies ahead of the technology curve.
Ricoh representatives will also be on hand throughout the three days of the show to discuss with visitors the many benefits of Ricoh’s Business Driver Programme which includes a comprehensive colour profile library for Ricoh Pro™ L4100 Series users.
Concludes Mr Parker: “We are very excited about attending Sign & Digital UK for the first time this year. The show is well recognised across the industry for the quality of visitors and calibre of exhibitors. This show fits in perfectly with our strategy to get closer to our customers and potential customers by attending specialist more focused events and shows. We are looking forward to talking to the visitors who come onto our stand to understand more about them and how Ricoh and our product portfolio can help them to transform their businesses through innovative technology-led change.”
