Antalis Academy

Antalis’ Digital Academy has revealed a busy programme of events for the summer, including new workshops, new locations and its inaugural Digital Breakfast Seminar.

Taking place on 30 June 2017 at Antalis’ Digital Academy, based in Coalville, Leicestershire, the new Digital Breakfast Seminar is aimed at print business leaders. It will provide them with the opportunity to network as well as the chance to hear from two inspirational speakers: independent print consultant, Sean Smyth, will be exploring the drivers that are encouraging the adoption of digital print along with ideas for future investment, while James Cameron, founder of the Forces’ Motorsports Charity, will share stories of truly amazing feats of bravery and endurance and how digital printing is playing a small part in racing, retraining and recovery of those affected by military operation.

The seminar is part of Antalis’ ongoing commitment to provide a hub of information, live demonstrations and training to those looking to expand their digital print offering.

Giles Bristow, Antalis’ Digital Support Manager, comments: “We are very excited about hosting a breakfast seminar, which we hope will become a regular forum for business leaders to come along and learn more about what is on the horizon for digital print, get inspirational insights, network with likeminded people, and generate ideas about how to develop their own businesses”.

Antalis is also taking its Digital Academy on the road again, this time to Newcastle. The Digital Academy Introduction to Digital Photobook and Personalised Printing and Finishing workshop will take place at the premises of Taopix Ltd – developers of the world's leading Photobook and Personalised Photo Gift Software platform – on 28 June 2017.

The workshop, which includes hands-on sessions on softback and hardback photobook production, will be led by tutors Lewis Price, sales director of Ashgate Automation; Neil Bather, managing director of Transeo Media; and Dianne Moralee, sales director of Taopix. The workshop is aimed at companies using small format digital technology who are looking to broaden the range of their output to include printing and finishing photobooks and other personalised printing.

July sees the return of the Digital Academy’s Adobe Digital Workshops, tutored by Martin Perhiniak, voted one of the world’s top 10 Adobe tutors. Each of the five, day-long workshops covers a different Adobe-related topic, from foundation level to advanced.

A brand new workshop aimed at companies with large format inkjet technology who are looking to print wallcoverings has just been launched. The Digital Academy Wallcoverings Application Workshop, led by tutor Tom Earthrowl, will provide a complete overview of all aspects of wallcovering application as well as practical hints and tips. The first workshop is scheduled for 20 June 2017 and, with just six places available, attendees will be assured of quality time with the tutor. It is the latest release of a number of workshops in development in line with Antalis’ aim to continually provide up-to-date courses to reflect market development and demand.

Giles continues: “We have a core of workshops that are constantly in demand, such as the Colour Management and Vehicle Wrapping courses. Alongside those we carefully monitor what the market needs and is talking about, and are in regular consultation with independent industry experts to understand what is in development in the digital print arena and work with them to develop new courses that will ensure our customers can keep abreast of new opportunities”.
