Zünd UK Ltd is looking back on another successful Packaging Innovations show, having overcome the worst weather the region had seen for years.
Its venue, the NEC in Birmingham, was battered by blizzards on February 28th and March 1st with railway and traffic disruption causing concern for some exhibitions at the UK packaging industry's premier event. While the decision was made to close the doors an hour early on one of the two days, in general the show went ahead as planned.
On Stand H19, Zünd UK Ltd demonstrated a versatile Zünd G3 L3200 digital cutting table, configured for sample-making and production applications for packaging businesses. Visitors were able to see its accuracy and speed in processing foams up to 50mm thick, corrugated sheets up to 10’ x 5’ and smaller sheets of carton, boxboard and polypropylene materials.
The Zünd G3's energy-efficient, adjustable vacuum generator holds down material securely for accurate cutting and creasing using its Swiss-designed and manufactured tools, making it the ideal machine for any business working in packaging design and production. Packaging Innovations 2018, co-located with Empack 2018 and Label&Print 2018, was attended by delegates from sectors including food and drink, retail, e-commerce, cosmetics and beauty, and pharmaceuticals – all markets served by Zünd equipment.
Experts from Arden Software were also available on Zünd's Packaging Innovations stand to explain its packaging design software Impact and workflow automation software WEBcnx, both compatible with Zünd hardware.
"We definitely felt the impact of the Beast from the East at Packaging Innovations in Birmingham," says Matthew Tillett, Sales Manager of Zünd UK Ltd. "The team were braving some blizzards when setting up, but our R&D and production facility in Switzerland is no stranger to snow so we didn't let it defeat us.
"Our showcase of the Zünd G3 L3200, with tools and modules selected for packaging applications, was popular with attendees looking for the most innovative, versatile and robust systems on the market. Thanks also go to Arden Software, our partners at the show."
