Canon Announces Availability of imagePROGRAF Large Format Printers from Oce

Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, today announced that the Océ North America Wide Format Printing Systems division has been named as a dealer of its award-winning imagePROGRAF large format printers. As an authorized Canon dealer, Océ Wide Format Printing Systems will begin offering Canon’s lineup of imagePROGRAF large format printers and supplies, including the five-color Technical Documents and General Use Series and eight-color imagePROGRAF iPF8000S/ iPF9000S models. Later this year, Océ Wide Format Printing Systems will add the 12-color imagePROGRAF iPF8300, iPF6350 and iPF6300, which have been recognized by BERTL, Inc. with their “BEST” designation as part of the industry analyst firm’s 15th Annual Awards.

“With the increasing demand for professional, high-quality print jobs across a broad variety of market segments, Canon is committed to expanding our sales channel and providing customers with greater access to the printing solutions necessary to exceed customer standards today and into the future,” said Junichi Yoshitake, senior vice president and general manger, Imaging Systems Groups, Canon U.S.A. “Canon is pleased to add Océ Wide Format Printing Systems to our imagePROGRAF large-format printer distribution network.”

“The imagePROGRAF products enable Océ to strengthen its position in the large format printing market,” said Patrick Chapuis, President, Wide Format Printing Systems division of Océ North America. “With this expanded offering, Océ can offer its customers high-quality printers with a low acquisition cost for decentralized printing applications in addition to our highly productive multifunction monochrome and color systems for more demanding applications.”

Large Format Solutions for the Technical Market

The five-color imagePROGRAF iPF655, iPF755, iPF810 and iPF820 printers, part of Canon’s imagePROGRAF Technical Documents and General Use Series, are ideal for Geographical Information System (GIS); Computer-Aided Design (CAD); Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC); Reprographics; and other Technical Document markets where print volumes do not require production-level scale, but demand high-quality output.

The 24-inch imagePROGRAF iPF655 and 36-inch iPF755 models enable users to print a D/A1 color line drawing in approximately 28 seconds1, while the 44-inch imagePROGRAF iPF810 (single roll) and iPF820 (dual roll) printers deliver two D-Sized prints in one minute1, at resolutions up to 2400 x 1200 dpi. Canon’s unique five-color Reactive Ink System delivers durable, smudge-resistant prints with sharp lines and text, bold colors, and smooth fills. Direct printing support is provided for HP-GL/2 and HP RTL files and an HDI Driver offers direct printing from AutoCAD files. A built-in 80GB hard drive allows users to print files without slowing down the workstation.

    Professional Quality Graphic Arts Applications

Developed to meet the needs of graphic arts professionals seeking high quality output and speed, the eight-color, 44-inch imagePROGRAF iPF8000S and 60-inch imagePROGRAF iPF9000S printers are Canon’s fastest graphic arts large format printers. Featuring the LUCIA pigment ink set and the high speed L-COA processor, the imagePROGRAF S-Series graphic arts printers are ideal solutions for in-house print centers, retail quick printers and commercial print-for-pay shops.

With a maximum print resolution of 2400 x 1200 dpi, the new imagePROGRAF S-series is ideal for production print shops looking to produce posters, signage and display materials with greater speed, as well as commercial printers, in-plant facilities, print-for-pays, tradeshow exhibit builders, and signage shops. The S-series incorporates Canon’s advanced professional features such as built-in color calibration for color stability, automatic clogged nozzle detection and compensation for reliability; 330ml and 700ml selectable ink capacity sizes for versatility; and a large, backlit LCD panel for ease of use.
