Zund and SA International announce partnership

Zund and SA International announce partnership

As a perfect complement to Zund's newly developed three-dimensional routing capabilities for G3 Cutting Systems, SA International now brings to market the Zund Edition of their popular Enroute Pro 4 CAD/CAM software.

EnRoute Pro Zund Edition offers a variety of tools for creating unique surface effects quickly and easily. Parametric texturing has revolutionized 3D design, enabling signmakers to produce amazing results at unprecedented speeds. Rapid Texture uses the shape of the tool bit to generate a 3D surface effect in minutes! Other EnRoute Pro features include Smart Toolpathing, a complete Nesting Suite, efficient vectorizing, and output verification.

Since Zund launched the G3 series cutting systems in summer of 2008, their adoption by printed graphics producers looking for reduced labour cost and high levels of throughput across all types of rigid substrates and roll-fed materials has exceeded all expectations. The new 3D routing capabilities will further ensure Zund's position as the leading manufacturer of digital cutting systems.

Pete Alsten, Product Manager at Zund America, Inc., said, "Thanks to our cooperation with SA International, our customers now have the ability to utilise our cutting systems for exciting new opportunities in dimensional signage."

"SA International is excited to work with Zund America on this new initiative, and we look forward to a productive partnership," said John Albano, director of New Business Development for SAi.

Xerox Expands Wide Format Print Tools; Earns Industry Recognition

Xerox Expands Wide Format Print Tools; Earns Industry Recognition

Xerox Corporation has introduced new software and enhancements to its FreeFlow(R) Accxes(R) print server -- making it easier and faster to produce documents such as complex engineering renderings and topographical maps.

The software tools include the new Xerox FreeFlow Accxes Copy and Indexer, as well as upgrades to Xerox FreeFlow Accxes print server. Each gives users the productivity boost and image quality required to deliver crisp, detailed wide format documents.

Underscoring the strength of Xerox's wide format systems, BERTL awarded the company's 6622(TM), 6279(R), and 6605(TM) devices five-star exceptional ratings for their superior performance, citing ease of use and outstanding scanned image quality.

"Xerox's diverse set of black-and-white wide format products meets user demands for image quality, productivity, workflow flexibility and ease of use," said Arthur Wynne, president, BERTL, Inc. "These systems are crucial to the success of the architectural, engineering and construction markets and the print providers that serve them."

The following enhancements help printers efficiently manage their wide format applications:

  • FreeFlow Accxes Copy -- the software, fully integrated with Xerox scanning systems, allows colour copies to be produced on most wide format or narrow format colour printers, when large format versions aren't required. For example, users can scan a large construction plan on a monochrome wide format device and print in colour on a connected office multifunction system.
  • FreeFlow Accxes Indexer -- makes key documents easier to find for scanning bureaus, print-for-pay businesses and legal offices with large volumes of documents. This software allows users to apply a name such as "Hospital Engineering Plan" to a 20-page document and enter it just once. The software also offers a built-in image editor to "clean up" documents that exhibit poor quality.
  • FreeFlow Accxes Print Server -- scans to and prints from a USB storage device in seconds. Also, a new enhanced queue management and file naming/indexing allows for advanced workflow flexibilities to help jobs move efficiently through the shop.

Xerox will showcase its wide format portfolio at Graph Expo 2010, Oct. 3 -- 6 in Chicago.

Availability and pricing

The new offerings are available for order taking and installation starting in October. Availability and pricing vary by geography.

The new software and FreeFlow Accxes enhancements are compatible with select Xerox wide format devices. Contact a Xerox sales representative or authorised dealer for information about upgrades.
