C&W selected the Foliant Taurus 530 NG for its flexibility, robust performance, and easy operation, ideal for various lamination tasks.

Graphco, a premier supplier of print finishing solutions and the exclusive North American distributor of Foliant Laminating Systems, proudly announces the successful implementation of the Foliant Taurus 530 NG at C&W Graphic Finishing in Indianapolis, Indiana. Since its installation in October 2024, the system has already unlocked significant operational value and new growth avenues for C&W.

With over 60 years of proven excellence, C&W Graphic Finishing has earned industry-wide recognition for its precision die-cutting services. Over time, the company has evolved into a comprehensive post-press solutions provider, now offering more than 25 finishing capabilities—including converting, perfect binding, and kitting. In addition to the Foliant Taurus, Graphco also supported C&W in acquiring a Horizon collating system in 2022 and a BQ-270V with HT-30C in 2021.

The move into lamination marks a strategic expansion of C&W’s service portfolio, directly aligned with customer demand. “We’ve added four new services in the last two years,” says Taylor Gates, Vice President at C&W. “Laminating is the latest. Before the Taurus, we didn’t laminate, but it’s something our customers kept asking for. Local options are limited, so clients had to send jobs elsewhere, adding extra freight and time just to get them laminated—then send them back to us to finish. We saw an opportunity to fill that need.”

C&W chose the Foliant Taurus 530 NG for its robust performance, production flexibility, and intuitive operation. The machine accommodates a wide array of film types—including gloss, matte, soft-touch, and specialty finishes—perfect for applications like bookmarks, coil-bound books, pocket folders, and beyond. “The most popular finish for us is gloss, followed by soft touch,” notes Gates. The Taurus delivers pristine, bubble-free lamination and crisp edges, elevating both durability and visual appeal.

Built for high-throughput environments, the Taurus 530 NG features advanced automation such as an integrated feeder and compatibility with both digital and offset outputs. The rollout at C&W was seamless. “The install was very smooth,” recalls Ryan Nutter, C&W’s Production Manager. “I expected a full-day process like we’ve had with other equipment, but this was a breeze.”

The Foliant system is already fueling measurable business gains. “The Taurus has been worth the investment,” says Nutter. “Before, when our customers sent their jobs somewhere else for lamination, they were going to companies that offered the same services we do. We had no way of knowing how many jobs we were losing. Now with our laminator, we can handle the whole process, keeping it all under one roof.” Beyond enhancing service to existing clients, the new offering is attracting fresh accounts. “It’s opening up the doors and bringing in new customers. The more we can do in-house, the better,” Nutter adds.

Chris Manley, President of Graphco, commended the initiative: “We’re always proud to support forward-thinking companies like C&W Graphic Finishing that invest in their growth and adaptability. We’re thrilled to see the early success they’re having with the Foliant system, and we’re excited to see where it takes them next.”
