Digidelta, a specialist manufacturer of digital printing, decoration, visual communication, and textile materials, has announced the global availability of BIOND, a revolutionary, bio-based, carbon-neutral range of films that will completely transform the way print companies create environmentally friendly applications.
Unveiled at the 2025 FESPA Global Print Expo, BIOND is a groundbreaking, bio-based technology that presents users with all manner of exciting opportunities within sustainable print production. Fully patented, BIOND has been developed in house by Digidelta, a hugely respected manufacturer that has more than 40 years of industry expertise and a long-term legacy of sustainability.
BIOND has been designed firmly with the environment in mind, with the long-term goal of evolving large-format print with nature’s touch. Crafted from vegetable-based products, BIOND represents the definitive crossover between sustainability and unparalleled printing performance.
The BIOND collection is currently split into four core categories – printing films, protection films, décor films and glass décor – with each section offering a selection of speciality products to suit a wide range of applications. Whether it is producing retail graphics to tell the eco-story of the customer or stunning wall and window decorations to spread awareness of the client’s own sustainable achievement, BIOND is not only visually impactful but environmentally responsible.

Though different in name, each product is based on the same, patented, carbon neutral design that makes this range superior to comparable materials. The films contain 85%+ bio-based content, do not contain any volatile organic compounds, and are free from harmful substances such as phthalates and chlorine.
In addition, all BIOND products use a water-based adhesive and are manufactured using processes that are 85% solar-powered. Production is overseen by the expert team at Digidelta, ensuring not only a high level of quality control over all materials that leave its specialist factories, but also excellent production efficiency, delivering products to customers in all regions in a timely manner.
This in-house approach to manufacturing innovative new solutions like BIOND also helps reduce the cost of outsourcing production, with these savings passed on to customers, thus cutting the cost of them becoming a more sustainable business. In fact, such is Digidelta’s long-term commitment to this dedicated manufacturing process that it recently invested €3.4 million in its already-impressive production facility in Portugal, expanding floorspace to more than 10,000sq m.
While very much environmentally focused in nature, BIOND materials still behave in the same way as traditional, PVC vinyl films. However, the critical difference is that BIOND is truly sustainable, with customers able to create environmentally conscious applications without having to compromise on quality.
BIOND films can be stretched without tearing, opening up their use in print and cut projects, while they are supplied in several finishes including wood, stone and canvas to offer more flexibility to the user. Add in that they are compatible with all printing technologies, including more environmentally friendly machinery such as latex printers, and this makes BIOND the ideal, sustainable solution for printers of all shapes and sizes.
These environmental credentials have been confirmed to EU Standard CENT/TS 16137:2011 for bio-based content, while all BIOND products are FSC-certified and recognised by EcoVadis. On top of this, they all carry Fire Resistance (B-s1, d0) and R9 Anti-Slip Rating validations and have been accredited in line with REACH, RoHS and SVHC standards and regulations.

In the interest of being fully open about its manufacturing process and the environmental qualities of the new films, Digidelta has set up a sustainability calculator. Here users can input how much PVC vinyl they use and calculate the carbon dioxide savings they could make simply by moving to bio-based BIOND materials. Typically, this amounts to an 80%+ CO2 reduction compared to traditional PVC.
BIOND is the result of working with intention, from raw material to the final result. BIOND has been created with purpose: to deliver true quality, evidence-backed sustainability and certified safety, with no shortcuts, fluff or compromise.
“BIOND represents a fundamental shift in visual communications, delivering high-performance print media that establishes new benchmarks in environmental responsibility,” says Armando Mota, CEO of Digidelta. “Our commitment extends beyond creating eco-friendly products – we’re pioneering solutions that transform industry possibilities.
“Through innovative bio-based technology and smart end-of-life solutions, we’ve created a truly circular approach to visual communications – actively contributing to a more sustainable future.”
