Judges for Inca's 'IDEAS 2012' awards announced

Four wide-format and digital inkjet printing experts from around the world will judge the 2012 Inca Digital Excellence Awards (IDEAS). Barney Cox, Senior Consultant at InfoTrends, Phil Day, Director of POPAI UK & Ireland, Stan Kilpin, Publisher of Digital Image Australia/New Zealand and Noel Ward, MD of Brimstone Hill Associates in the USA all have extensive knowledge of inkjet technology and its ability to produce a myriad of creative products.

These wide-format specialists will be examining the IDEAS entries to look for a combination of quality, innovation and creativity. The IDEAS aim to recognise those Inca users around the world who are achieving the most stunning effects using Inca’s state-of-the-art flatbed UV technology.

Companies can enter their best work in six categories:  Display Graphics, 3D POS, Retail Interiors, Decor and Furniture, Product Decoration and Interactive Display.

Imaginative and inspiring applications have been entered from Inca users around the world and the final line up will showcase the tremendous potential of digital wide format printing. The prize for each category winner is a two-night stay in Las Vegas for SGIA Expo 2012 (18th – 20th October), during which Inca will host an evening presentation event.

The four judges are united in the value of awards such as the IDEAS.

Barney Cox says, “Judging the Inca IDEAS awards is a great way to experience the real world applications that digital printing technology enables. I am looking forward to seeing the creative responses to client’s business challenges that PSPs from around the globe have produced. In particular, the Décor and Furniture, Product Decoration and Interactive Display categories, which show how digital print is enabling new areas of business.”

Phil Day comments, "Producing effective point-of-purchase display is a genuine discipline, backed up with real insight – being able to affect the shopper in-store through this medium is a skilled art. I'm pleased to be able to bring my experience from working with the UK's top brands and retailers to the Inca IDEAS awards to help recognise the best of the best."

Stan Kilpin adds, "I have been privileged to see a lot of exciting innovations in wide-format in recent years and am constantly amazed at the ideas and ingenuity that can be applied to this creative industry. I have no doubt that the Inca IDEAS Awards will produce some work of world class standards. After all, we have the technology, the people and the ideas."

Noel Ward concludes, “As a palette for expression and communication, large format trumps all other types of printing. It's exciting to be a judge and see the best of the best work being done.”

To enter the awards, printers need to submit details of their entry online and upload at least three images.  The closing date for entries is 31st July 2012 and the results will be announced on 19th October during SGIA in Las Vegas.
