Perfect Colours has announced it sold the Durst Omega 2 and Durst Rho P10 160 demonstration machines from its stand on the opening day of Sign & Digital UK 2014.
The 1.6m Durst Omega 2, a UV-curable engine with LED curing and an extendable gamut, was snapped up by Fusion Digital, which aims to make full use of its ability to swap between rigid and roll media for various sign and display applications.
Fusion Digital’s managing director Darren Taylor cites this flexibility as influential in his decision to buy. “We’re experiencing an increasing need for high-resolution images printed on a variety of rigid and flexible substrates with short turnaround times,” he explains. “After a demonstration from Perfect Colours, it was clear that the Durst Omega 2 would fulfil these requirements ably. We were particularly impressed with the consistency of quality across all the materials we tested. This is a represents a fantastic next step for Fusion and we look forward to taking delivery after the show.”
The Durst Rho P10 160 is an entry-level industrial flat-bed with optional roll-to-roll printing; this engine will go home with Print & Cut, a Stockport-based business with designs on its continuous productivity features and remarkable uptime. Careful thought has gone into making the machine fit for high levels of throughput, including highly accurate registration, even when printing two-up, and superior ink adhesion.
Already owners of a Durst Omega 2, Print & Cut required an additional platform to meet demand but with greater print speed. “We’ve been delighted with the performance, reliability and quality offered by the Omega 2, but demand has grown so much that we now need a unit with similar quality but greater productivity,” explains Andy Morris, owner. “The Durst P10 160 fits this brief perfectly and will help us increase our overall capacity. We already have several jobs lined up, ready for the machine’s installation in a few weeks’ time.”
“Sign and display producers are spoilt for choice when it comes to wide-format printers, but these two Durst machines bring world-class functionality and industrial build quality to an affordable level,” explains Jon Telling, sales director at Perfect Colours. “We are no longer trying in vain to match customers to the available options. Now, we can help businesses such as Fusion and Print & Cut thrive with a machine that meets their precise requirements.”
The Perfect Colours stand at Sign and Digital UK also features the brand new HP Latex 300 range and HP Designjet Z series, announced last week, as well as RIP solutions from Caldera.
