Together with Daniel Slomka, Managing Director and founder of SMS sign media solutions GmbH, two true LFP specialists unite, both of whom have actively accompanied – and significantly shaped – the development of visual communication for over 25 years.

When large format printing was still in its pioneering days and digital printing materials were just starting to be used, Honscha and Slomka were already actively involved in developing the market. For more than two decades, their paths crossed at international trade fairs, product launches, and professional exchanges within the Viscom community.
The merger at SMS is therefore not a quick personnel decision, but the consistent continuation of a long-standing shared industry history – driven above all by shared values and experiences.
From Boardroom to Product Strategy at SMS
After voluntarily stepping down from the Management of Neschen Coating GmbH, Nils A. Honscha deliberately decided to return to a more operational role.
“After the first conversations with Daniel, it was immediately clear to me that I wanted to work closer to the product and market again – and that work can also be fun!” Honscha further explains: “I already felt this enthusiasm and openness in the first conversations. That’s exactly what I was missing: the joy of creating, short decision-making paths, and direct exchange. The product range is the heart of a distributor – this is where I can apply my experience effectively. Also, I hardly know anyone who lives the sales of specialty media as passionately as Daniel. We will complement each other excellently!”
As a partner at SMS sign media solutions GmbH, Honscha will be responsible for the strategic development of the product range in the future. The goal is to align the portfolio even more closely with real market demands, specific applications, and sustainable solutions – supported by decades of product and industry knowledge.

Of course, Daniel Slomka also sees a clear benefit in the partnership: “Nils is a true product person with a deep understanding of the market and great application expertise.
