swissQprint receives two EDP Awards

swissQprint Robot Rob

The 4×4 version of the Nyala 2 large-format printer and Rob, the swissQprint loading and unloading loading robot, have each received an EDP Award. There were 31 winners out of more than 150 products submitted to the annual awards.

Every year, 20 leading European specialist magazines bestow awards on the best technological developments in the printing industry. Candidates include products such as software, digital printers, postpress solutions and consumables. The jury assesses them by criteria including quality, user friendliness and cost efficiency. Out of more than 150 entries this year, there emerged 31 winners, among them two swissQprint products.

Nyala 2: best flatbed printer
The swissQprint Nyala 2 UV inkjet printer won the category "Best flatbed/hybrid printer up to 250 sqm/h". Specifically the 4×4 version that uniquely combines print speed with print density. Users get high print quality with short lead times.

The jury's assessment: "Print samples showed a significant quality improvement in productivity mode, with an expanded colour gamut thanks to higher print density." The Nyala 2 features a 3.2×2 metre print bed and outputs a maximum of 206 square metres per hour.

Rob: best robot solution
In the "Best solutions in robotics" category, the jury chose Rob, swissQprint's loading and unloading robot. Rob teams up with any swissQprint flatbed printer to handle unmanned shifts. He is ready for action 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, enabling even better utilisation of the printer. Customers benefit from shorter delivery times, while providers earn higher returns.

The jury found: "Robots are really nothing new in the graphics industry. But swissQprint is the first to combine this technology with large-format printers and automate the process in an integrated way: the printer output software also controls the robot."

swissQprint flies the flag of offering customers practical, high-quality solutions. These two awards are proof of the Swiss manufacturer's repeated success in this endeavour.
