Exhibitors map out strategic plans for SignLink Live 2017

Ahead of the debut SignLink Live event, a number of key exhibitors have opened up about their plans for the event to give visitors an insight into what they can expect at the show.

SignLink Live will launch this year at the International Centre in Telford. Taking place from October 11th to 13th alongside sister event The Print Show, SignLink Live will offer something that is currently lacking from the UK market; an event entirely dedicated to sign-making.

Organisers have stayed true to this promise by filling the show hall with a host of major players from the sign-making market, each of which will be demonstrating and discussing how their solutions can help UK sign-making businesses bloom.

One of the leading names in attendance this year will be The Sign Group, which was among the first companies to commit to the inaugural SignLink Live. The firm will be showcasing its main trade sign manufacturing brand, as well as its We Love LEDs and Neon Plus divisions.

Graeme Hoole, managing director at The Sign Group, said: “We have new products and marketing strategies that have been developed over the last year that we are about to put into action, it’s exciting, and we’re looking forward to see if it pans out how we expected.

“With all that in mind the opportunity to exhibit at a new show dedicated to the nuts and bolts suppliers in the sign trade, rather than heavy equipment, was very attractive. It seems to fit neatly with what we’re trying to achieve this year, so was a no brainer.

“For 90 percent of all sign-makers in the UK, this has to be the exhibition to visit if no other.”

Also due to attend this year is NCS Trade Signs, which, billing itself as a ‘secret manufacturer’, produces some of the most well-known and prestigious signs for many of the country’s leading high profile sign and brand implementation businesses.

Speaking ahead of its appearance at the event in October, Laura Hoult, marketing director at NCS Trade Signs, said: “As an approved Spandex Sign Systems Centre, we are able to offer solutions for all of your wayfinding requirements. Not only can we supply the Spandex System that we all know and love, with bespoke manufacturing at the heart of our business, we are able to modify and customise the Spandex System to create unique and exciting alternatives.”

Meanwhile, on Stand J01, Sign-Making Tools will be on hand to talk through its portfolio of solutions, ranging from old favourites that are staples of sign- making, through to new and exciting tools that could transform the way you work.

Co-founder Paul Hughes said: “Sign Making Tools are open to suggestions and if you are stuck on a specific job, contact us and we may be able to help with the tools required. One main theme runs through our product range, we want to make your work easier and save you time, even if it is just for an extra cup of tea at the end of the day.”

Over on Stand M08, Mid West Displays will be speaking with attendees about its display and lighting systems, as well as showing off new products developed at its factory in nearby Shrewsbury. Solutions on offer include cable and rod display systems, sign supports, lighting, freestanding displays, and rotating displays.

Visitors will also be able to see the latest offerings from Ipren UK, which, as part of the global Irpen S.A.U manufacturing group, will show a rainbow of colours and grades within its range of Cast Acrylic Sheets.

For those interested in trade display technologies, Brandstand UK will show off a brand new series of solutions on Stand L18, which it promises will “wow and amaze” visitors. One of the key product launches at SignLink Live will be WaveLight, which combines specially formulated and fabricated LED lighting sheets to make this system glow from within and give real bang to the dye- sublimation printed graphics.

Meanwhile, a key challenge for many sign-making businesses is how they handle projects that require working at height or on very large scales such as building wraps. It is this challenge that has been the bedrock of success for Global Erecting Sign Services (GESS), which on Stand K05 will be showcasing the immense profit potential of being able to say ‘yes’ to such commissions by using its white label trade services.

In addition, Very Displays will be out in force for SignLink Live on Stand L35 with its range of pop-up displays and soft signage display products, which it supplies on a trade-only basis.

Speaking on behalf of the company, Chris Cox said: “We are a passionate, talented team dedicated to the positive influence and making a change by bringing inspiration and innovation to the display industry. Our professional, personal approach is what makes us different in the market and collectively the team has over 50 years of extensive experience within the industry.”

And on Stand L25, Merlin Tools is set to showcase how sign-makers can cut a new route to increased profits, higher quality products, and lower wastage through the use of quality solid carbide tooling and associated cutting tools and spindle tooling.
