Mark Thompson, Printdesigns Limited, has been named the winner of the FESPA Fabric 2014 T-shirt design competition, receiving 522 votes from visitors at the exhibition and taking away the €250 prize.
The 2014 competition received 46 entries. Five of the entries were then shortlisted and displayed at FESPA Digital 2014 (20-23 May) in Munich where visitors voted for their favorite design.
Second and third place went to Noe Garcia and Federica Micalizzi respectively.
The 2014 edition marks the third time that FESPA Fabric, co-located with FESPA Digital 2014, has hosted the design competition, following successful competitions at FESPA Digital 2012 (Barcelona) and FESPA 2013 (London).
The competition was designed as a pre-event marketing campaign to showcase the creativity that is possible in garment decoration and textile print to encourage those in the industry to ‘dive deeper’ and explore new design and production techniques.
Lynda Sutton, Marketing Manager, FESPA, comments, “I’m really impressed with the calibre of entries we’ve received this year. FESPA Digital and Fabric 2014 was all about diving deeper into the options that the garment industry can provide to budding designers and to highlight the endless opportunities within textile printing. This year’s winning t-shirt certainly demonstrated creativity and the possibilities available in garment decoration and textile print.”
