Vicky Jarman, Marketing Manager from printMAX is gearing up to undertake the gruelling 26.2 miles of the London Marathon just one year after she started running!

Unfortunately for Vicky, the dates couldn’t be worse. You’ll be able to meet Vicky at Sign and Digital UK (Stand K10), but just 3 days later she will be running the historic course around London.

For the London Marathon, Vicky is raising money for the charity NEPTanzania, a relatively small charity which aims to improve access to education and the overall wellbeing of Maasai children in rural Tanzania with the support of village chiefs and elders. Vicky has only ever completed a maximum of a 10K race in the past but decided to take the plunge and sign up for her biggest challenge to date.

She explains: “My Mum, a keen runner herself, encouraged me to consider signing up for the London Marathon, with the ballot offering just a 20% chance of getting in I didn’t think I had anything to worry about. However, as a 10 year London Marathon volunteer I can apply for an allocated place, which apparently I was mad enough to do! I only started running last year to try and get to 6k as a goal, I never thought I’d have 26.2 miles looming but I’m confident that my training and willpower will pay off. It’s not ideal facing the marathon in the same week as Sign UK, the exhibition alone is usually pretty exhausting but as they say, if it was easy, everyone would do it! I’m looking forward to running past Buckingham Palace to cross the finish line.”

Michael Bolton, managing director, printMAX, adds: “We are all completely behind Vicky and are 100% confident she will be able to complete and return to work on the Monday with a well-deserved medal. We all wish her the very best of luck in accomplishing this huge challenge.”

We at LFR would also like to wish Vicky the very best of luck in a most noble challenge!
