Quality Print Services Limited (QPS) has announced further details about the VersaEXPRESS RF-640 with ID-64 print solution prior to Sign & Digital UK 2018.

Delivering stunning quality output, the new addition to QPS’s portfolio delivers scratch-resistant graphics that are also suitable for short-term outdoor use without the need for lamination.

The newly formulated ink for the ID-64 requires no outgassing time, and brings a whole host of benefits to the graphics producer. Instantly dry and instantly usable prints with extremely low ink running costs means that as well as having a faster turnaround time, the ID-64 offers low production costs, as much as 65% cheaper when compared to comparable latex technology.

As a key reseller for Roland DG, QPS will be hosting the first public showing of the new solution on its stand throughout the three-day event. Thanks to its unique UVL ink, the RF-640 with ID-64 produces output that is instantly dry for immediate application or post-finishing.

Chris Bailey, Managing Director of QPS, explains: “Since the introduction of latex machines, some users have found that output is not ‘instantly dry’ as suggested, and still needs degassing prior to finishing. However, the new UVL inks used by the RF-640 with ID-64 operate at significantly lower temperatures and as a result there is no media instability following printing. Output is suitable for finishing as soon as it comes off the roll.”

Furthermore, the printer has also demonstrated its ability to deliver very high-quality prints at significantly lower cost. Chris Bailey continues: “The RF-640 with ID-64 solution uses a non-consumable piezo printhead so doesn’t have the added cost of replacing the short-life thermal printhead. Combined with the lower price of the inks, this new printing solution delivers like-for-like output approximately 65% cheaper when compared to latex technology.”

Chris Bailey concludes: “This is a very competitively priced solution offering excellent long-term cost savings for the customer. With a Roland PrintStudio RIP software included, the RF-640 with ID-64 is set to print a broad range of applications – from banners and posters, to floor graphics, window displays and more – from day one. We encourage all companies looking at investing in a new latex or eco-solvent machine to come to our stand, see the printer in action and talk to us about how it can increase revenue and profitability for their business.”
