Sign & Digital UK 2014 welcomed 6,115 visitors to the NEC, Birmingham on 29 April – 1 May, Sign & Digital UK and reaffirmed its position as the UK’s leading buying show for the sign making, display solutions and digital printing industries. With an 8% increase in visitors through the door, Sign & Digital UK commissioned a survey from Zing Insights to find out what visitors liked about the 2014 show and what they would like to see more of for future shows.
The survey received 858 responses and showed that the top three reasons for attending were to see new products, keep up with industry trends and to find new ideas and inspiration.
Visitors to the show were there to buy, with 90% of visitors looking to invest in new equipment at the show or in the following 12months. 86% of visitors were part of their companies buying process, which meant that sales were being made thick and fast. Sign & Digital UK 2014 seemed to reflect the confidence that the industry is feeling, following the tough times of the recent recession.
Over 57% of visitors had not attended another event in this sector for the past two years and nearly two thirds said that if they could only attend one event a year it would be Sign & Digital UK.
When visitors were asked what they would like to see more of, top of the list were ‘materials and substrates’ followed by vehicle wrapping.
Rudi Blackett, Event Director commented “The results of this survey will help us to ensure that the 2015 show continues to be a must-attend event for the sign making, digital solutions and digital printing industries. Visitor feedback is very important to us and we will be implementing new features next year to reflect what the market wants to see – watch this space.”
