Spandex Open House set to deliver practical advice to grow your Digital Print and Signmaking Business

Spandex, the one-stop supplier of complete and innovate solutions to the digital printing and signmaking industries has announced details of an inspiring Open House event, taking place at Spandex’s premises in Bristol on November 4th and 5th 2010.

Following the company’s successful theme of ‘Learn, Discover and Benefit’, the event will provide existing and potential customers with interactive learning sessions and practical expert advice to help them reach their business goals during the ongoing challenging economic climate. Spandex will also show customers ways to take advantage of the growing textile and soft signage market by maximising the potential of new and existing technology.

The highlight of the Open House will be two seminars delivered by technical expert company Color Concepts. Both seminars are designed to help visitors deepen their knowledge of digital print and the opportunities it represents. The Creating Printer Workflows seminar will offer practical advice on how to reduce costs in the print department. It will also demonstrate how to optimise communication with customers by using proof prints and how to use PDF and colour effectively. Focusing on the world of media and printer profiling, the Creating Print Profiles seminar will show visitors how to achieve the best colour results from any media and how to maintain this quality in the long term.

“Feedback following recent Open House events clearly shows that customers value the number of extensive learning opportunities, live product demonstrations and expert presentations – all under one roof”, explains Phil McMullin, Spandex UK Country Manager. “Designed to inspire signmakers and digital printers and provide them with the all important competitive edge, our events also allow customers to interact directly with key industry specialists and provide them with valuable tips to boost their businesses and enhance their capabilities.”

Ensuring the event provides as much value for visitors as possible, all workshops have been designed to equip customers with practical tools to help them identify new business applications and develop their range of services. Other workshop and demonstrations will cover subjects focussed on vehicle wrapping; textile marking; sign systems; fixings and fastenings; Gerber Edge Media Applications as well as wall wraps. There will also be a seminar on ‘Photographic & Fine Art Reproduction’ and the ‘The Latest Digital Materials’.

Throughout the day, visitors will also be able to experience live product demonstrations of an extensive range of wide-format inkjet printing solutions from leading industry manufacturers. Taking centre stage will be Spandex’s new Gerber CAT UV flatbed inkjet printer which was previewed for the first time at Fespa 2010. As a true economically priced flatbed UV printer, the Gerber CAT UV is ideal for signmaking, point of sale and other unique applications.

Also on display will be Epson's new Large Format printer GS6000 (64") printer, designed to enable sign shops and screen printers to move into more premium services, such as vehicle wraps, point-of-sale, and fine art reproduction due to its high resolution, 8-colour output capability.

Spandex offers the industry’s widest range of media brands and the event will offer delegates the chance to consult the expertise of Spandex material suppliers, including Avery®, Mactac®, , 3M™ and Spandex’s own brand ImagePerfect™. The Sign Systems range will include displays from Labate and Co and Kunstdünger.
