The inaugural UK Graphic Awards are now open for entries and attracting a lot of interest from companies across the UK’s large format print industry.
The awards – organised and run by project management software provider Vism and the FESPA UK Association – will be held at Oulton Hall, Leeds, on Tuesday 15th September 2020. They will follow a daytime conference – Thrive in Print – and be a chance for businesses of all sizes from across the large format print and installation industry to come together for an inspirational day of learning and celebration.
Vism Managing Director Dan Tyler says that there is an incredible buzz around the awards and the conference. “We’ve only just opened up for ticket sales and awards entries, and the response has been fantastic. It seems like they are a real hot ticket! We’ve had a massive interest in the awards from a range of businesses and we’re excited to see the entries coming in already.”
Thrive in Print to focus on innovation and business growth
The Thrive in Print conference is designed to be a day of informative presentations and group discussions, aimed at inspiring business leaders to develop their own new ways to thrive in the print business.
“We want attendees to leave the conference with concrete ideas as to how they can advance their business, to not just survive but to thrive,” said Dan. “We believe our fresh approach and a clear focus on learning and business development will reap dividends for business owners and managers."
Suzi Wilkinson, Director at FESPA UK adds “What’s great is that the conference won’t include any sales-based presentations, just well thought through knowledge sharing sessions with industry experts. We want to show people just what can be achieved and give them the insight and contacts to help them emulate that success.”
UK Graphic Awards to celebrate expertise and skills
The UK Graphic Awards will follow on from the conference, and like the daytime event will focus on the people and businesses producing stunning work across the country.
“These awards aren’t about the kit you have or the people you network with – they are an impartial look at the skills, expertise and drive for change within the UK large format print industry,” added Dan.
“People entering the awards will see that they aren’t able to even name the machines or media they’re using. The entries will focus on the challenges and opportunities of their individual project or business development and how they worked to deliver stunning end results.
“Our theme is Be Bold and the aim is to inspire ideas, not ‘product envy’. We’ve worked hard to ensure a level playing field and a focus on the brilliant people working in our industry.”
“Businesses have until 3 July to enter these free awards and we’d like to see as many entries coming in as possible. The awards are designed to have a real feel-good factor and be a true celebration of everyone’s achievements.”
