From now on, viscom, the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication, will take place annually in Düsseldorf.
The event used to alternate locations between Düsseldorf and Frankfurt each year. The second change: viscom will be moved from autumn to January to become the kick-off event for the new business year. The third change: starting in 2019, viscom will be held concurrently with PSI, the Leading European Trade Show of the Promotional Products Industry, with the first event scheduled from 8 to 10 January 2019. The rhythm change means that viscom will not take place in autumn of 2018.
This move – while maintaining two separate events – creates Europe’s largest alliance of advertising and sales trade fairs. Together, the two shows draw more than 1,200 exhibiting companies and approximately 28,000 trade visitors from 80 countries. “They thus cover the entire spectrum of visual, textile and haptic advertising”, says Hans-Joachim Erbel, the CEO of Reed Exhibitions Deutschland. Focus topics will include Promotion & Sales, Signmaking & Print as well as Textile & Soft Signage.
PSI members and certified agencies will retain the exclusive right to visit PSI. By the same token, PSI members will be able to benefit from viscom’s wide range of offerings – especially in the printing and finishing technology segment.
PSI’s home will be in Halls 9 to 12, while viscom will occupy Halls 13 and 14 at the Exhibition Centre Düsseldorf. Serving as a central hub specifically for marketing decision-makers will be the Marketing and Retail Forum, which covers the topics POS, Premium Packaging and Brand Communication, plus Merchandising and Licensing.
In order to provide visitors with faster and more targeted access, three entrances will be available in future: the North Entrance for PSI, the East Entrance for viscom and, additionally, the North-East Entrance adjacent to Hall 13
