Following the introduction of VION Series VP3000/VP5000 graphic films to William Smith’s portfolio, Chris Griggs of Chris Griggs Graphics has become a firm advocate of the products.

“We use VION VP5000 for general signage and VP3000 for a range of applications, including small vehicles, flat panels up to A1 size, internal flat panel work and small stickers for diggers,” explains Chris Griggs. “And we have even used it successfully on the rear counterweight of a digger; this has a slightly curved surface and the film conformed very satisfactorily. We also print onto the gloss overlaminate for window stickers on digging machines.”

Series VP3000 three year monomeric calendered vinyl film comes with clear, solvent based pressure-sensitive adhesive and a high quality 140gsm double-sided PE coated liner that gives excellent stability during printing and handling. Series VP3000 is available in gloss white or gloss transparent options and is suitable for application to flat and slightly curved surfaces only, for short to medium term promotional signage and short term vehicle graphics.

Meanwhile, Series VP5000 graphic film is now available in a new option with grey permanent adhesive featuring V-Flow air release technology, which makes it easier to apply. It is suitable for application to flat and slightly curved surfaces, for vehicle graphics, display graphics, internal and external signage and window graphics.

“We mainly use our latex printer for VION products but also do some work on inkjet. The print quality is very clean, and I’m very impressed with the quality and clarity of the overlaminate, especially when using it as a clear film for printing,” Chris Griggs continues.

“We initially purchased VION for its competitive price and because I like to try new materials. The quality and performance of the film is comparable with other products in the same price range, and the V-flow air release works well. I will definitely be continuing to buy VION,” affirms Chris Griggs.
