Yeomans, the Purpose Driven Agency working with more than 260 charities across the UK, has strengthened its production capabilities through investment in Canon’s varioPRINT iX3200 sheetfed inkjet press, enabling the organisation to deliver faster, more personalised and more sustainable communications for the charity sector. The investment forms part of Yeomans’ wider strategy to strengthen the services it provides to charities while supporting future growth.
Working shoulder to shoulder with charities across the UK, Yeomans provides end-to-end support across strategic consultancy, fundraising, creative services, supporter care, fulfilment, warehousing and print production, guided by its ethos of doing the right thing. Supporting organisations ranging from hospices and faith-based charities to international NGOs and animal welfare organisations, the business helps charities build stronger relationships with supporters and maximise the impact of fundraising campaigns.
The investment in the Canon varioPRINT iX3200 forms part of Yeomans’ wider business transformation, following a recent rebrand and relocation to a purpose-built production facility. The move has streamlined its expanding service offering, improved operational efficiency and created the capacity needed to support future growth, while providing the right environment for both its people and production technology.
Faster, personalised print for charity campaigns
Across the charity sector, Yeomans have seen organisations become increasingly considered in how they communicate. Rather than producing high-volume generic mailings, charities are investing in smaller, more targeted and highly personalised communications. This shift has increased demand for production technology that combines quality, flexibility and fast turnaround times.
To support this shift, Yeomans invested in the Canon varioPRINT iX3200 to replace legacy toner equipment and bring around half of its previously outsourced print production back in-house. Compared with its previous toner technology, the varioPRINT iX3200 delivers up to four times greater productivity, enabling the business to increase capacity and flexibility, while reducing its reliance on external suppliers. This flexibility enables Yeomans to respond more quickly to urgent fundraising campaigns and emergency appeals, helping charities communicate with supporters when timing matters most.
When it comes to quality, the device’s proprietary water-based polymer pigment ink, ColorGrip conditioning liquid and inline quality assurance technologies deliver detailed, smooth, and consistent images. On top of this, the wide media range enables a vast array of high-value personalised applications, while also giving Yeomans the ability to switch quickly between jobs.
At the same time, Canon’s sheetfed inkjet technology supports the company’s sustainability ambitions by reducing waste, enabling efficient print-on-demand production and supporting the recyclability of printed materials through its water-based ink technology.
The installation was supported by Canon’s project management, technical and service teams, who worked closely with Yeomans throughout the pre-installation, installation and onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition into live production.
Phil Broad, Managing Director at Yeomans, comments: “This investment wasn’t about saving money. It was about improving what we do for our clients. The Canon varioPRINT iX3200 allows us to bring much more work back in-house, giving us greater control over quality, more flexibility and the ability to respond much more quickly, whether that’s a personalised campaign or an emergency fundraising appeal. Ultimately, it enables us to deliver a better service to the charities we support.
“Everything we do is driven by purpose. If we’ve done our job well today, somewhere a charity is better able to support somebody who needs it. That’s what gets us out of bed every morning. This investment helps us take what we do to the next level, by giving us the quality, responsiveness and consistency our clients expect.”
Stuart Rising, Head of Graphic Arts at Canon UK & Ireland, adds: “Yeomans has built an outstanding reputation supporting charities through innovative communications, fundraising and production services. We’re delighted to support the next stage of its growth with the varioPRINT iX3200, enabling the business to bring more work in-house, increase flexibility and continue delivering the responsive, high-quality service its charity customers depend upon.”
