When it comes to making a decision, people tend to follow the path of least resistance. Providers who make things easy for their customers will always have the upper hand in fiercely competitive markets for this reason. BPI Media Group, located in north-west Alabama, knows this first-hand from both a business and customer perspective.

BPI invested in Durst innovation over half a decade ago, so when it came time to increase their production capabilities, they turned to a trusted partner. “When adding a new piece of equipment to our location, we wanted something with high speed and print quality, something that would separate us from our competition, and would fit inside our technology and automation platform,” said Alan Davis, President of BPI Media Group. “This is our second Durst press. Based on our experience with our P10 model, replacing it with a P5 was an easy decision.”

The P5 350 hybrid solution is a proven power horse and has been revolutionizing print production since its debut in 2019. With a printing width up to 3.5 m and productivity up to 708 sqm/h (7,620 sq.ft/h) in the HS version, the P5 350 brings high quality, efficiency and versatility, and is the perfect solution for print service providers who offer a wide variety graphics to diverse clientele.

“We’re really happy to see the progression and growth of our partners,” commented Matt Loede, Director of Wide Format and Textiles, Durst North America. “We’ve had the privilege to partner with BPI for six years, and in that time, we helped them increase production with their first Durst, and now with their second. The P5 350 HS perfectly fits their expanded production demands and it’ll be very rewarding to watch them continue to grow and thrive.”

With the P5 350 HS installed and completing jobs effortlessly, Davis is confident in their decision. “The print quality is amazing. Being able to run two rolls at one time and the additional speed of printing on ridged boards will allow us to grow in the near future.” Their customers are pleased with the investment as well. Davis continued, “The reliability of the print quality and uptime of the Durst makes production easy, and gives our customers confidence that reoccurring program POP will happen on time with the quality they expect.”

When reflecting on what this means for the future, Davis concluded, “Durst’s R&D and product development gives us the security that we have continuity for future equipment needs. This management philosophy is carried on through their sales team, service and customer care, and gives us confidence in this fruitful partnership.”
