Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems (Kongsberg PCS) will demonstrate how sign and display manufacturers can use its powerful automated solutions to improve productivity, drive efficiency, and enjoy the creative freedom to bring designs to life at this year’s ISA International Sign Expo.
Visitors to the event, held from 10-12 April at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center, will see firsthand how sign and display businesses can harness the power, precision and versatility of the company’s market-leading MultiCam CNC solutions and Kongsberg cutting tables to streamline workflows and automate production, boosting efficiency and creativity.
Matt Thackray, VP & General Manager of Kongsberg PCS operations in America, said among the displays ISA expo visitors can look forward to are demos of the Kongsberg C24 multifunction super-wide digital cutting system and the hugely impressive MultiCam Apex3R CNC router, the flagship in its MultiCam range of advanced routing and CNC cutting systems.
“We’re excited to give sign and display manufacturers the opportunity to see close-up the power and capabilities of one of the most versatile CNC Routers on the market,” said Matt. “With spindle speeds ranging from 4-13.3 HP, the Apex3R can cut a variety of materials including plastic, aluminum, wood, high-density foam, and composite materials.
“Our team will demonstrate how the Apex3R sets the standard for routing capabilities with its perfect balance between performance and precision,” said Matt. “It can cut everything from thick acrylic to aluminum with perfect edge quality, while an automatic knife changer and specialized knife systems ensure the Apex3R delivers perfect cuts on a wide range of materials such as foamcore, coroplast, package foam, and acoustic panel. Our team will also demonstrate our automatic tool change system for up to thirty different spindle tools and ten different knives, which makes the tool exchange process even faster.
“Our 2,500 sq ft booth will also feature our MultiCam Apex1R, designed for smaller businesses and shops but still offering the same great performance you expect from a MultiCam router,” he said. “Constructed from a single-piece welded steel frame along with an aircraft-quality steel gantry, the Apex1R also features cast gantry supports which greatly dampen vibrations. We look forward to showing ISA visitors how the helical racks on each axis provide smooth motion and tight control for precise and quality cutting.”
Matt said the Kongsberg C24 would complete the booth’s complement of display machines, showcasing how it is designed to keep up with the faster, wider printers of today and tomorrow. “Exceeding the standards in versatility, precision and productivity, it has everything that Kongsberg tables are noted for, and more,” he said. “Its combination of strength and speed makes high quality digital production possible, even under the tightest of deadlines.”
The Kongsberg PCS team will show how the robust and reliable C24 can be equipped for a range of jobs, everything from milling, contour cutting and routing through to drilling and engraving. Importantly, the Kongsberg C24 is also equipped with the latest iPC (i-cut Production Console) software, specifically developed to make it even easier for users to harness the power and precision of their equipment and get the most out of their investment. “With iPC, users can set up standard production workflows, create simple designs and layouts, and run production manually or fully automated,” said Matt.
Live demonstrations of the MultiCam and Kongsberg machines will highlight the power, simplicity and accuracy of cutting and routing a range of materials including acrylic, aluminum, sign foam/precision board, SEG fabric and PVC.
“We’re excited to bring the MultiCam Apex3R, Apex1R and Kongsberg C24 to ISA in Florida and to demonstrate just how quickly and easily we can bring our customers’ designs to life,” said Matt.
