Mutoh, the wide format printer and consumables manufacturer, held a two day European press event last week in Belgium with UK journalists being co-hosted by Colourgen, Mutoh's UK distributor for textile and UV printers.
Five presentations were delivered on the first day of the event spanning topics such as ink developments, green credentials and hardware. Arthur Vanhoutte, President of Mutoh's European Operations also presented an overview of the organisation and outlined its plans for the future. In this presentation, he highlighted the fact that Mutoh's Ostend-based facility encompasses the whole production process from product research and development through to the actual manufacture and distribution of its wide format products. Many of the components used in this process are manufactured in the UK.
The second day consisted of demonstrations and a factory tour where the media could see Mutoh's recent developments at close hand. Mutoh's i2 (intelligent interweaving) technology demonstration was particularly impressive and showed how banding could be virtually eliminated without compromising image quality.
