The first edition of SignLink Live is shaping up to be a must-attend event as organisers confirmed that a new flurry of well-respected suppliers have signed up to exhibit at this year’s show.
Taking place alongside sister event The Print Show at the International Centre in Telford from October 11th to 13th 2017, SignLink Live has been designed to address the needs of companies in the sign-making centre, away from the world of wide-format print. Visitors will not only benefit from a show floor that features a host of major names from across the sign industry, but also an immersive content programme that will offer advice and guidance to those in attendance.
With a range of UK focussed firms having already signed up to appear at the show such as Grafityp, Signcomp Europe, Signgeer Systems, Innova Solutions, Graphtec, and Hampshire Flag Company—just to pick a few select businesses—the SignLink Live organising team have revealed that Pinetree Enterprises, The Sign Group, and William Smith have also committed to stands at the inaugural event later this year.
Martyn Kiddey, managing director of Pinetree Enterprises, speaks positively not just about the upcoming show, but also the organising team at Link Exhibitions, which includes a number of personnel behind The Sign Show, SignLink Live’s predecessor. In 2008 it was the first national trade event in the UK to be set up and run by Link Exhibitions.
“At last The Sign Show is back, if with a rebrand and a concentrated focus,” Kiddey said. He added: “We have only waited nine years, but never mind it is here now. The 2008 event was the best show I have ever exhibited at, so I am pleased to be out there again. It had to be good to get me to take part in exhibiting again as I said I wouldn’t. Not only am I taking part, we are having the biggest stand we have ever taken at an exhibition.
“Other sign shows around Europe I have been at are becoming more and more digital print based and the visitors stand transfixed by machines that they will never order or watching something being vinyl wrapped to see if it is any better than they can do.
“SignLink Live is different. It shows sign supply companies products to sign-makers. This is a true win-win situation, the exhibitor knows that the visitors are interested in their products. The visitor knows that they will be shown products that are relevant to them. The time until the show will pass quickly and I for one can’t wait.”
Another key innovator and trade supply brand has also committed its support to SignLink Live, with The Sign Group set to showcase its main brand, as well as We Love LEDs and Neon Plus divisions.
Graeme Hoole, managing director at The Sign Group, said: “We have new products and marketing strategies that have been developed over the last year that we are about to put into action, it’s exciting, and we’re looking forward to see if it pans out how we expected.
“We have advertised with SignLink for the last few years and feel we get really good value for money, not only from the potential new customers and brand awareness, but also the support we get from everyone at Link Publishing.
“With all that in mind the opportunity to exhibit at a new show dedicated to the nuts and bolts suppliers in the sign trade, rather than heavy equipment, was very attractive. It seems to fit neatly with what we’re trying to achieve this year, so was a no brainer.
“For 90 percent of all sign-makers in the UK, this has to be the exhibition to visit if no other. It will give them invaluable contacts, great insight into what’s available, and the chance to speak to more people working in a similar environment than any other show.”
A key testament to the strength of SignLink Live’s offering and its strong focus on the sign fabrication and manufacturing supply chain is that none other than William Smith has also taken a large stand at the exhibition.
Chris Bradley, head of marketing at the firm, explained his thinking: “Having recently rebranded our manufacturing arm of the company, Smith, it’s important now for us to highlight to the industry that we are not just about material distribution selling under William Smith.
“We’re impressed with the venue and we were also really impressed with the promotional plan the organisers have in place, the target audience the show appeals to and the numbers they are promising through the door. An event of the calibre of SignLink Live is ideal for a company like ours, as we get to be part of a show which focuses on trade manufacturing of signage and the supply chain.”
