Strong visitor turnout, high-quality meetings and a renewed sense of confidence that brought back to the forefront the value of direct market relationships. This is the picture Guandong takes away from FESPA 2026, the show which marked the international launch of EDOFILM, the new premium self-adhesive vinyl range unveiled as a world premiere in Barcelona.
Throughout the exhibition, the Guandong booth served as a meeting point for distributors, customers and professionals from a wide range of international markets. While the “lace-on-glass” application attracted the attention of passing visitors, EDOFILM became the main topic of discussion among customers and partners. Many industry professionals visited the stand specifically to explore the features of the new range first-hand, through which Guandong has brought its philosophy of Specialist in Specialties to the vinyl market.
“We were particularly impressed by the level of participation at this year’s edition,” comments Edoardo Elmi, President of Guandong. “We experienced once again the spontaneity that has always characterised our relationship with distributors, customers and partners. Many of them stopped by not only to discover our latest innovations, but also to share ideas, experiences and future projects. In many ways, it was like going back to the best editions of the event from a few years ago”.
Major deals finalised directly on the show floor
The interest generated by EDOFILM also translated into tangible commercial results, with numerous orders secured during the event. “It had been years since such significant deals had been finalised directly at the trade show,” Elmi continues. “In recent times, exhibitions had mainly become networking opportunities, whereas in Barcelona we saw the interest immediately turn into business.
This result is undoubtedly due to EDOFILM’s technical qualities, but it also stems from the reputation we have built up over time developing materials capable of meeting—and sometimes even anticipating—specific, high-value added applications. It is the same philosophy we are now applying to the vinyl market as well. That is why we believe that EDOFILM has all the characteristics of a bestseller.” The market response was reflected not only in the number of orders received during the exhibition, but also in the fact that the entire first production run of EDOFILM has already sold out.
Broader portfolio attracts strong attention
Alongside the new vinyl range, Guandong’s glass decoration solutions also caught the attention of Fespa audience. The textile effect inspired by embroidery on glass, combined with the specific applications of the 12 variants in the One Way Vision range, sparked considerable interest thanks to the original fusion of aesthetics and digital printing, opening up new opportunities for retail and interior design applications.
The exhibition also confirmed strong interest in some of the most representative solutions within the Guandong portfolio, including the Mairon magnetic compound, the Mr. Magnus mono-resin synthetic sheets and the Super Wide Format collection, which extends the company’s tailor-made philosophy to large-format applications.
