Hybrid Services says there's never been a better time to invest in a Mimaki

Mimaki’s JV33 printers and CJV30 printer/cutters form the mainstay of Mimaki's printer portfolio.  Hybrid Services, Mimaki's exclusive UK and Ireland distributor, has recently highlighted the latest attractive pricing from authorised Mimaki resellers in the UK and Ireland and claims that 'there’s never been a better time to invest in one of these award winning solutions'.

Both the JV33 and CJV30 machines sport latest generation print heads, an industry leading print quality and multiple choices when it comes to inks. With a strong heritage in the sign industry and a reputation for delivering production quality solutions, Hybrid says that Mimaki has become the de facto choice for a considerable corner of the market.

Hybrid Services' national sales manager, John de la Roche, comments, “The Mimaki JV33 has a justified reputation for delivering high quality prints onto a very broad range of materials at speeds that allow most print companies to deliver high volumes of work each and every day.  If you’ve not already added a Mimaki to your print arsenal, there’s never been a better time to invest as our resellers have some unbelievable offers at present.”

The CJV30 utilises the same high quality print engine as the JV33 and adds the cutting functionality found on Mimaki’s CG-FXII range of plotters. De la Roche explains the draw of the integrated printer / cutter to sign makers: “The CJV30 comes in four sizes, starts at just £5,995 and is unrivalled in its ease of use and feature set. Printing, cutting and even die cutting from the one unit means a small footprint and true unattended operation leaves sign makers to get on with other jobs whilst their Mimaki is printing away and making them money."

“Following the success of this summer’s promotion on the 60cm CJV30-60 we’ve created a permanent RRP of just £5,995. That includes RIP and cutting software, take up unit and a stand.  Just add some ink and you’re away,” continues de la Roche.

The Mimaki CJV30-100 also benefits from a new RRP of just £7,995 and with offers available on the 1.3m and 1.6m options, de la Roche is keen to ensure customers benefit. “I’d urge printers to discuss pricing with their Mimaki reseller soon as some of these offers are for a limited period only – we don’t want companies to miss out.”

New event - the European Sign Show - to run alongside FESPA 2013

FESPA is partnering with the European Sign Federation (ESF) to run a new event - the European Sign Expo.  The event will take place between 25th and 27th June 2013 in London alongside FESPA 2013.  The European Sign Expo will occupy 5000m2 adjacent to the existing FESPA 2013 halls, with distinct branding and entrances. Visitors to either FESPA 2013 or the European Sign Expo will have automatic access to the neighbouring event free of charge.

The European Sign Expo will complement FESPA’s traditional focus on printed signage and graphics, offering visitors a focused sign event in which to explore innovations in architectural and informational signage, including channel lettering, signage systems, illuminated displays and digital signage.

The new European Sign Expo builds on the success of the European Sign Summit which was a feature of FESPA 2010 in Munich, co-hosted by FESPA and ESF. The Summit featured a panel of expert speakers addressing a range of topical issues such as light pollution, new applications, and the role of signage in corporate communications and identity strategies.

The European Sign Expo will be organised by FESPA, with sales, marketing and operations the responsibility of the in-house exhibition team, and strategic input from ESF.

FESPA Managing Director of Exhibitions and Events Neil Felton comments, “It is a natural progression for FESPA to develop a sign exhibition to serve the European market; sign makers are already part of FESPA’s global community. As the convergence between the sign and print sectors continues, we want to guide graphic producers and their customers on how they can maximise the impact and effectiveness of signage.”

Roger Persson, President of European Sign Federation comments,“Developing an exhibition for the sign industry is an important mission for ESF. As a Federation, our objectives include providing a central point where the sign making community can obtain industry information, as well as facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences. We believe an exhibition is the perfect platform for individuals to be able to do this while also sourcing equipment solutions to improve the performance of their business.”

European Sign Expo will target a multitude of visitor profiles - from sign producers to retail brands - by collaborating with key players in the sign market including Shop and Display Equipment Association (SDEA).

Signs Express Managing Director, Craig Brown remarks, “We are delighted to hear FESPA has launched the European Sign Expo in London. This event  is the ideal platform for us to encourage our network of 70 sign production centres to visit the show and keep up to speed with industry trends, as well as enable us to facilitate meetings and create further networking opportunities.”

As the only international exhibition focused on sign, early discussions with manufacturers have been met with positive interest. 35% of the floorspace for European Sign Expo has already been allocated.

And finally... a star is born(?!)

It's all for charity, mate!

Friend of LFR and print industry PR and commentator, Jack Gocher, has spent the last few weeks helping out with Radio Christmas – a charity radio station broadcasting from a house in Amersham.  A little garden cottage has been converted into a proper radio studio and local people - young and old - have come together to host shows which are available to listen to on 87.7FM, online at www.radiochristmas.co.uk and on iPhone and Android apps.

The station is raising money for Street Kids Direct, which runs projects in Guatemala and Honduras for children either living on the streets or working in the city dumps. They set up schools and orphanages and they also work on the streets, helping children with medicines, food and other support. It is a unique charity, which ensures that every penny donated goes directly to helping the kids – no admin, no expenses, no other costs – it all goes to making sure some children living in the worst imaginable conditions have a happier Christmas.

Jack still has some shows left if you want to check it out [insert: 'have a laugh'. (Ed)].  He is on air at 8pm to 10pm on Thursday night (20th December) with the 80s show and also Saturday 22nd December at 3pm with the Football show.

On his first move towards the global domination of the airwaves, Jack says, “It’s been great fun. And at least I have been able to provide the charity station with some great signage, courtesy of GPT and Colourgen. It’s all for a good cause, so hopefully people will help us out with a donation*."

Please tune in [insert: 'if you can bear the thought'. (Ed)] and - if you are feeling Christmassy - Jack asks that people check out the web site for details on how to donate to the charity. There are some great prizes to win, including a mini iPad, a champagne tea for two at the Stoke Park Hotel and many more.

*The easiest way to donate is to send a text to 85010 then space, then KIDS. This will give a donation of £1 to the charity. More details can be found on the website www.radiochristmas.co.uk
