Integrated design, print and marketing business Printbureau has invested in a new HP Latex R530 printer to improve its environmentally friendly range of printing services, as well as grow its overall offering to customers by expanding into new markets.
Based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, Printbureau has been delivering a wide range of services to its customers across various markets for the past 18 years. From packaging and marketing campaign design to wall art, vehicle wraps and large-format work, this diverse offering has seen Printbureau win and retain clients across key areas such as retail, manufacturing and education.
With demand on the rise from both new and existing customers, Printbureau identified the need to invest in a new machine. However, not content with only improving production time and efficiency, the company also set its sights on strengthening its environmental credentials, with this being a key focus when searching for a printer.
After setting out its long-term goals to the team at Papergraphics, an approved HP partner, it was decided that the HP Latex R530 was the best solution for Printbureau. The company took delivery of the printer in mid-May, with staff at its West Yorkshire site now starting to explore what is possible with the technology.

A compact all-in-one rigid and flexible printer, the HP Latex R530 can print at a top speed of 24sq m/hr in indoor mode and print on boards up to 1.6m wide and 5cm thick. The machine runs 3L ink cartridges and can print in a range of colours as well as white, opening up its use across applications including indoor and outdoor signage, window graphics, décor, banners and POS.
HP Latex R530 expands services and cuts vinyl use
“The main aim was to improve our environmental impact as we currently mount all of our external and internal signage using vinyl,” said Mike Dumbreck, Director of Printbureau. “We also wanted to improve on production time and efficiency, as well as offer more bespoke product ranges.”
Mike added that now the machine is up and running, the company is considering ways it can use the new printer to offer a wider range of services to customers across various markets.
“We would like to offer more services such as POS for the retail sector and window graphics,” he said. “With the use of white ink, the printer will let us produce eye-catching graphics, while I would also like to print onto wood and more natural products including packaging and boxes.
“On top of this, the new machine will also allow us to produce acrylic panels with stunning results. Previously, we would have to print on clear and mount white vinyl, which can lead to some quality issues.”
Mike added that the decision to return to HP was testament to the success it has experienced with HP Latex technology in the past. The HP Latex R530 was installed at Printbureau alongside an existing HP Latex 560, which has been in place for more than eight years.
“I love the brand and the existing machine has been a great workhorse, so HP will always be my go-to,” he said. “With the fantastic support of Papergraphics and my confidence in the HP brand, this will hopefully deliver some amazing opportunities for my business.”
