Toyo Ink India has won a 2026 IFCA Star Award for water-based gravure and flexo inks designed for more sustainable packaging production.

Toyo Ink India Pvt. Ltd., a member of Japan’s artience Group, has been honoured with the prestigious IFCA Star Award 2026 in the “Innovations in Ink” category, presented by the Indian Flexible Packaging & Folding Carton Association (IFCA). The Award was officially presented at a ceremony held on September 24, 2026, in Mumbai, celebrating outstanding excellence and innovation across the entire packaging value chain.

The accolade recognises Toyo Ink India’s pioneering advancements in developing eco-friendly and high-performance solutions tailored for the evolving packaging market. The two winning products, JW252 Gravure Water-Based Ink and HW870 CI Flexo Water-Based Ink, directly reflect the company’s core commitment to developing sustainable and innovative ink solutions for the packaging industry:

Gravure Water-Based Ink (JW252):

A high-performance retort composite ink designed with a water-soluble formula. It eliminates traditional hazardous solvents, significantly cuts volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, and delivers high lamination strength capable of withstanding high-temperature packaging sterilisation.

CI Flexo Water-Based Ink (HW870):

An eco-friendly ink engineered for high-efficiency, fast-drying runs on Central Impression (CI) flexographic printing systems. It features a low-residual-solvent formula that meets strict safety and hygiene standards while maximising colour concentration on flexible films.

The success of the JW252 and HW870 ink series marks a significant milestone in the company’s mission to drive sustainable growth across the global packaging sector. With the backing of the worldwide artience Group, Toyo Ink India continues to invest heavily in research and development to address the stringent environmental demands of modern supply chains:

“This recognition by IFCA celebrates our core spirit of innovation, sustainability, and manufacturing excellence,” said Shekhar Barua, Director of Toyo Ink India. “Our strategic focus remains on delivering cutting-edge, sustainable solutions that help brands and packaging converters reduce their environmental footprint.”
