There was plenty to discover on the swissQprint stand at the Fespa Global Print Expo 2025: the new flatbed Generation 5, enticing application worlds, the efficient Karibu roll to roll printer, along with fascinating facts about the high profit-earning capacity of these Swiss printing machines.

The Swiss manufacturer’s new flatbed line took centre stage at swissQprint’s trade fair appearance in Berlin. The launch at the beginning of the year caused a stir: “Having our own swissQprint I did not think you could really improve it. It really is a step forward,” is the assessment of John Langfield from UK-based Muraspec. According to Carmen Eicher, swissQprint’s Chief of Sales and Marketing Officer, it was only a short time from the launch presentation to the first orders arriving. “Deliveries to all five continents have been underway since January.”

Tangible benefits of Generation 5

Particularly impressive is the 23% increase in print speed – with no compromise on quality – up to a maximum of 341 m²/h. Moreover, the new flatbed generation comes with 10 colour channels, permitting a single machine to cover even more applications. To meet customers’ individual requirements, swissQprint offers three Generation 5 models, all of them built on a completely redesigned, modular foundation: Kudu, Nyala (both 3.2×2 m) and Impala (2.5×2 m).

Inspiring application worlds

In addition to live print presentations of the Kudu and Nyala models, theme-specific application worlds at the swissQprint stand enticed visitors onto inspiring journeys of discovery. Particularly appealing were the neon prints, along with haptic and visual effects produced by swissQprint flatbed and roll to roll to roll printers alike.

Roll to roll printer with unique features

On the stand was a Karibu 2 as representative of swissQprint’s roll to roll printer line. Beyond exceptional applications and characteristic swissQprint high quality, this 3.4-metre-wide UV roll to roll printer adds high efficiency to the mix. This is not least due to the cassette system for quick and easy roll handling, the Mesh Kit integrated in the print bed for clean full bleed and mesh printing, and the dual roll option for optimum productivity with narrow rolls.

High return on investment

“With swissQprint, we save over 20,000 euros a year,” says Katharina Vogt, in charge of digital printing at declaro Beschriftungs GmbH in Germany. This comes down in particular to modest maintenance requirements and reliability – which swissQprint backs up with a 36-month factory warranty on every model in their range. Besides this, the printers draw as little power as an ordinary electric kettle, namely an average of 2.2 kWh. The Swiss printers are just as interesting in terms of revenue pulling power. Thanks to their productivity, quality and exceptional capabilities, they generate very high added value.
